Curious about podcasting and Metis culture? Meet Samantha Loney: a Metis filmmaker and podcaster from Barrie, Ontario, who won a Brian Linehan Award as a student at Humber College’s Comedy Writing and Performance program for Outstanding Artistic Promise. Her short films have screened at Weengushk International Film Festival, Asinabka Film and Media Arts Festival, and the Vancouver International Film Festival among others. Her fictional podcast Herstory the Podcast Series was featured at the Victoria Arts Council's Levelling up, Breaking Down Women's Day exhibit in March of 2023. She is the host and producer of the Travelling Metis podcast, a hybrid fictional/interview-based podcast series that teaches about Metis culture; available wherever you get your podcasts, with the second season to be released in March 2024!
